I was recently VERY lucky, and as one of the #Yoursneedsme winners (Eek!) I took part in the photoshoot for the Yours Clothing Heritage Collection.
The shoot itself was an incredible day – Hair, Makeup, styling, lighting tests; do you know how much work goes into these things?! I didn’t. Have you ever stood with your legs facing one way, your shoulders facing another, then your face looking in a different direction all together? Well I have now, and it’s just about as easy as it sounds. If you EVER look at a model and think that they’ve got it easy you are sadly wrong. I had to have a large glass of wine and a good lie down to recover…
To the important part: THE CLOTHES
The Heritage Collection is utterly stunning. Yours have been upping their game HARD and A/W is an incredible example of this: Deep florals, tartan layering and knee boots A-Plenty. Every single outfit I wore for the shoot rocked my world but my highlights were:
The Aztec print waterfall cardigan – This was my favourite piece of the day. It could be worn over jeans and a vest just as easily as with a black dress, tights and ankle boots – It’s so versatile (Plus the colours are perfect for Autumn!)
Faux Fur Gilet – I don’t usually like gilets but I will most certainly make an exception for this one! It lifted the look of a long sleeved t-shirt beyond recognition and with a floppy hat is incredibly Brigitte Bardot (Always a winner in my eyes!)
Check and Floral Print Skater Dress – Poppy wore this on the day and the rest of us were green with envy. The colours are utterly stunning and you can’t beat a long sleeved dress for layering up as the weather gets nippy.
Clothing aside (that’s not something you’ll often hear from me), what made the day for me was the company I was in. The Yours team are exactly as you’d imagine them to be – talented, friendly, funny and just an all-round cracking bunch of people who made us feel so comfortable and looked after.
Then the girls: Tia – Sweet, savvy, independent and ready to take on the world. Linzi – Glamorous, sensitive, an incredible Mum and just a little bit naughty around the edges, and Poppy – Talented, silly, warm and a face that could make a grown man or woman weak at the knees. All of them gorgeous, bright and truly the perfect women to be representing Yours Clothing. As a plus size woman, it is SO important to me that the brands I value, value me just as much. Watching these wonderful, diverse women in front of the camera proved to me that Yours know their clothes, they know their audience, and most importantly; they know plus sized women.
