Like us, you probably love wrapping up to watch some fireworks with your friends and a few cups of mulled wine. Obviously 2020 had other plans in mind and unfortunately has cancelled our usual bonfire night plans (as well as everything else). However we’re still happy to celebrate the 5th of November in our gardens with a few sparklers, toffee apples and toasted marshmallows. Fingers crossed that a neighbour will set off a few fireworks for us to watch.
Finding the perfect cosy outfit that is both fashionable and functional is a challenge we face every year. Read on for our top warm winter outfit picks…
A Warm Coat

As much as we love our leather jackets, they aren’t the ideal option to be standing outside in for a long period of time. If you haven’t already it’s worth investing in a winter coat to keep you as warm as possible throughout the colder nights. We are loving plus size puffer jackets this season. This black cropped option is perfect to throw on over any outfit to instantly add a warm layer. If you’re a fan of a warm hood, try out a parka with a faux fur lined hood, perfect for throwing up during autumn showers. If you’re looking for a more glam option (for those cute Instagram stories with your sparklers) opt for this cosy faux fur coat.

A Cosy Knit

Knitwear will be your new best friend this winter. Layer up underneath your coat with a chunky knitted cardigan or super cosy roll neck jumper. A perk of oversized knits is not only that they’re already very warm, but you can fit thinner layers on underneath them. We’re loving the autumnal neutral tones of these knitted pieces. If you’re looking for another warm top option, try out a fashionable but functional knitted top.

A Staple Pair Of Jeans

Jeans are an absolute wardrobe essential, especially when the temperature drops. Layer up your outfits with a staple pair of plus size jeans. Opt for an on-trend mom fit in a vintage blue wash. Or if you’re sitting outside, maybe be sensible avoid any mud stains with an essential black pair of jeans or jeggings.

A Pair Of Winter Boots

Whatever you’re planning on doing, it will probably involve standing outside on damp grass. It’s best to keep the white trainers inside for this event and get out your favourite winter boots. We’re all about chunky soles this season, perfect for keeping you comfy all night long. We’ve got classic Chelsea boots or trending lace up boots. For the ultimate cosy option try out these boots lined with faux fur.

Cold Weather Essentials

Complete your bonfire night look with some cosy accessories. Sometimes when we’re all wrapped up we don’t feel as fashionable as usual. Adding a cosy beanie hat or trending print scarf is an easy way to amp up your look, whilst adding another warm layer to your outfit. Try out a knitted headband for a glam but warm alternative to a hat.
